SUPPORT THE FESTIVAL

The Purbeck Film Festival, run by a Charitable Trust, was established in 1996.  It first began when a group of volunteers brought together the rural community to celebrate 100 years of cinema.  23 years later, the Festival continues to bring film to rural areas and bring people together to celebrate film.  There are screenings of over 70 films from around the world in over 30 venues across Purbeck, Poole and Bournemouth.  We have been privileged to welcome many special guests over the years, including Dame Maggie Smith, for Q&A events and discussions, and continue to do so with many producers, actors, distributors, directors and industry professionals joining us again this year for some wonderful events.

For many years the Festival has screened films outdoors during the summer, such as our much loved August Bank Holiday Weekend films at the National Trust’s Corfe Castle, and responds to requests from communities and other festivals to run cinematic events throughout the year.
